Global Tribunal Weapons / SEEKERS / CM Section [NOTE: this a partial list only, for a full list see objects list]
I Galen Thurber have been a pioneer and leader in weapons, ECM, seeker edits (not to mention bugs fixes, missions, flight envelopes) since late 1997. These advanced edits are rarely even attempted by other LIB makers. The value add to FA from my edits are to say the least impressive; they vastly improve sim play and require 'veteran' default players to convert from trained monkeys that build skill from repeatitive arcade play into proper thinking human sim pilots. Some of them fear leaving the crib. Too bad. For the other wise sim pilots whom have left the crib for realism; my hat is off to you.
Understanding these objects WILL vastly improve your survivability and skill ! but if you fly FA already you have to unlearn your misinformed tactics and learn realism skills. Do not be afraid, be wise.
Another major bug in default ATFG/FA is the very poorly modelled ECM CM parameters. Many default objects are mearly clones of mistakes. Hence another poor rush job... but it can be rebuilt !

ECM CM pods
GT lib updates and improves on mods conducted by Varks libs. Vark's documentation claims ECMS work together at the same time; I have not yet verified the results. update: July 20th, 2000 started rework of GT ECM [troubles associated with Varks as a baseline] with help from Jon Stelling and http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/equip/index.html
Notes: these specs change without notice, many default objects are identical. Second major rebuild of ECM type started in GT 39. Data here is often speculative but all relative.
FA notes: number of objects adversely limits number of ECM pods [and fuel tanks]- LIBMASTER TIPS - best build planes with ECM and CM separate so that AI can use either when needed instead of CM 1st.
AI notes: when flying against the computer, the computer does use ECM but you can not see the ECM noise cone. In the stats screen ECM'd misses on AI also do not show up. They may appear as jinked or failed.
GT objects will carry specs in the name for easier placement on hardpoints. Bold name indicates CM/ECM up to GT specs

GUNS
you want em you got
em! GUN bugs are a huge problem in default game and many
libmasters incorrectly mod these weapons
Repairs to ATFG/ FA guns:
EA Jane's damage points seem to be calculated for 1nm so 1.4 will be used for GT realism patch, it's when the bullet's energy is depleted too much to cause realistic damage. This static damage point system is only good at this spec'd range, in real life the closer the more damage inflicted. We have to live with this one.
Also ~3000 kmph seems to be the fastest a
bullet can be made to fly, tested this with the ADEN @ v=4692 but bullet
only went ~0.7 @ event [3000 value] Above that speed is CPU based.
Meaningfaster CPUs have advantages in gunfights.
Fixes super RANGE Jane's uses the
'event' time of 40 which gives guns super range.
Fire rate bug first fixed by GT - a cheat busted
problems many libmasters make is too set the
fire rate to 0, this causes overload of objects in the games and very bad
on multiplayer. The solution is to calculate hit points as if 10 bullets
are fired at once 1/4 sec then multiply that value to match fire rate [10
at 1/4 is 2400 RPM]
RPM / 240 = round per 1/4 burst
rounds per burst [RB] X hit points = hit point

& A2G weapons
removal event less critical than guns, range & track are
critical factors.
These are included to repair the handicapped non NATO weapons.
GT lib corrects more than 50
parameters per missle!
(with major bugs being fixed first)
More toolkit Tips:
Hit percentages : the maximun number should match 'electronic'
reliability of the missle[ yr= max % - 10% for non-Nato seems very
close]
other limitations will be turn rate, and ECM / Flare/chaff resistance
key:
ECM bonus for those Vintage missions
Disclaimer:
Specifications are often hard to verify for missles; such as speed (is that @10,000m or sea level ..?), tracking cones..., and what do they mean by range (burn out, removal, 25% hit percentage?)
GT libs critiques the data to see if it is 'realistic' and values that seem excessive or boosted get used as removal or as a 25% hit percentage. Often cold war data [even up to the early 90s] gets tranferred incorrectly, while many references and reproduce the incorrect data. We hope to spot and fix the errors.
Many target cones and ECM resistance values have been estimated (expect in instances of well know missles, AGM45, AGM65 ..)
Inside the game if you spot: *7, *7b, *6 or a 2 digit year then the missle has been repaired to more correct values

Testbeds
This was a project that proved basic physics to the 714th 'know it
alls' and how wrong they were. They of course fought all references
examples with banishment from their site. Since then they have
mysteriously been 'fixing' their guns closer to my original specs. Eat
crow 714! -may 31/98
* you must load all libs to proceed with

Gsh301x testbed to replace 714 [dec & jan] 'lawn dart' guns -
v1= original launch-2933/ end-1466 [kmph or mph?] event 40 [approx 3.5m!]
not good
v2= 714 [data secret] event distance 0.5 - 0.6! -too slow
work in progress Gsh301
The conclusions of the testbeds were to match the secret 714 libs with the data they were bragging about. Not only did their specs not match, the 714 lib was full of guns and speed errors. 714th of course denied anything was wrong and quietly 'borrowed' many of my specs to their new LIB releases, indicating they knew they were wrong and my data implementation was correct. Sadly 714th guns still contain many errors... but at least they are slowly getting closer to the GT high standards.
